Adult / Individual
The Individual membership is for adults 18 and older and costs $35 + applicable taxes. The current HI-Canada membership is valid until March 31, 2014.
You'll get a kit with your HI-C card and more info about HI-Comm and travel-related discounts. The card is good worldwide and gives you access to member prices at all YHA and HI-affiliated hostels. You also get lots of great travel discounts wherever you go - so be sure to ask at each hostel you visit. Trying hostels for the first time? This is where to start!
Life / Friend
The Friend membership is available to everyone, costs $175 + applicable taxes, and is valid for life! If you're already a die-hard hosteller and there is no turning back, here's your ticket! That means you'll get all the great discounts and member benefits for as long as you're a travelling type, all for just the price of five Individual memberships.
Hopefully too, with a lifelong membership in your pocket, you'll get involved with the HI-Canada team. We are always eager to have new volunteers, voting members, and board members to help us carry on our mission as a not-for-profit organization.
Group
A FREE membership for anyone travelling in a group, whether it be a business retreat, a school trip, a sports team or a caravan of rock'n'roll fans. If you're leading a Canadian group of 10 or more people, get in touch with us and we'll ensure your entire group receives member rates on all reservations at HI-affiliated hostels, which can be made by phone, fax, mail or email up to one year in advance.
Junior
Here's a nice surprise for younger travellers: the equivalent of an Individual membership -- for FREE. If you're 17 or under and ready to explore the world, call or visit your local HI Canada office with proof of your date of birth (birth certificate is a good one) and we'll sort you out with a membership. All the savings, all the benefits, but for you my dear friend, it costs nothing. Get ready to learn more about yourself and the world than you ever thought possible. |
