The Cabot Trail has been named one of the 'World's Best Road Trips' by National Geographic. This scenic, 300 km (200 mi) drive winds up and down through CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK; just close your eyes and picture the sea on your one side and the mountains rising high above on the other.  The start/end of this breathtaking drive is less than 10 minutes from  Bear on the Lake!

The island itself is one giant 'World's Best Road Trip' as it offers numerous scenic drives! There's the musical Ceilidh Trail on the southwest coast; keep an eye out for bald eagles as you spin around the Bras D'Or Lakes Scenic Drive, and let the Marconi & Fleur-de-Lis trails lead you back in time to Louisbourg Fortress - a national historic site!
