South Algonquin Backpackers is an established hostel run by travellers, for travellers, set in the historic Arlington hotel.

Our tiny village of Maynooth (population 200) is still very much 'off the beaten path'! Our hostel caters to backpackers travelling without vehicles. We are conveniently located on a Greyhound bus route, and once you have arrived we offer all sorts of Algonquin daytrips and shuttles with options to hike, bike, horseback ride, kayak and canoe, or we can set you up for an overnight canoe trip or camping adventure. We guarantee good equipment and the best rental rates!

In the evening unwind and mingle over some food or drinks in our licensed pub or make use of our guest kitchen, pool table, satellite TV, laundry, internet or large book exchange.
