Travel Tips & Directions

From the airport

Montréal is served by one airport: Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, 22km (14 miles) west of downtown.

Take a taxi

The taxi ride costs about $40 and it's a fixed rate. Prices are displayed inside every taxi.

Take the shuttle

The 747 Express city bus operates a 24/7 year round shuttle service between the airport and the bus terminal, stopping downtown en route. The closest stop from the hostel is at the corner of rue Guy and boulevard René-Lévesque. Rue Mackay is the next street (running between the two car parks) when walking East on René-Lévesque. The hostel is on your right. If you return to the airport, the stop is at the corner of rue Bishop and René-Lévesque (accross the biggest car park.)

The 747 buses are equiped with three luggage racks. The fare is $8 payable cash onboard. Notes are not accepted so be sure to have enough coins. The 747 bus ticket allows you to travel unlimited for a day on the bus and métro network.

From the train station

The train station (Via Rail and Amtrak) is located at Bonaventure métro station. Hop on an orange line train towards Côte-Vertu. Get off 1 stop further at Lucien-L'Allier. When walking out of the station, turn right and then left on Overdale Street. The hostel is at the end of the street on your left.

If you don't have too much luggage you might as well walk. Leave the station by boulevard René-Lévesque and walk west (will be on your left) until you come accross rue Mackay. It's a 10-15 minutes walk to the hostel.

From the MEGABUS terminal

Megabus buses don't arrive at the main bus terminal anymore but at an other terminal close to the main train station. Follow the signs to the metro and follow the directions from the train station.

From the GREYHOUND/ORLÉANS EXPRESS/OTHERS bus terminal

The bus terminal is located at Berri-UQAM métro station. Hop on an orange line train towards Côte-Vertu. Get off 5 stops further at Lucien-L'Allier. When walking out of the station, turn right and then left on Overdale Street. The hostel is at the end of the street on your left.

Driving

Arriving from Ontario, Champlain Bridge (highway 10/15) and Mercier Bridge (route 138)

You'll be arriving by highway 20. From there follow the instructions to get on highway 720 East. Take exit 4 towards rue de la Montagne. Turn left on rue Jean d'Estrées and left again on rue St-Antoine.

Arriving from Jacques-Cartier Bridge

Take boulevard René-Lévesque westbound and drive all the way to rue Peel. Turn left on Peel. Rue St-Antoine is two blocks down. Turn left on St-Antoine.
