For whatever reason you are here, now it is time to unwind...
Visiting or living in the town of Banff is a right of passage for many on the backpacker circuit. The town has a small population of 8,500 people, 50% of which is between the ages of 18-29. The average length of stay for a working backpacker in town is between 3-6 months. This is a college town without the school and the bonus of three world class ski areas. This mix makes for great nightlife in the town of Banff.

So you have had your night on the town and it is time to really see what the town of Banff has to offer here.  Get out, take a walk down into the town centre and check out all the shops. Banff Avenue has so many gift shops making it a perfect place to pick up that trinket of Canadiana that you must bring back home.   Many of the  gift shops highlight the work of aboriginal artists and artisans, an important part of Banff's Rocky Mountain history. Similarly, the many art galleries in the area celebrate the mountain artwork of local and Canadian artists. The prices can be astounding, but it is certainly worth a look.

The town of Banff also has a wide variety of restaurants to choose from should you get hungry. There are so many world cuisines packed into such a small area. You can go from Canada to Japan, Germany to Thailand and Italy to Greece, not to mention all of the fusion restaurants. All within walking distance, you can travel the world by foot.

Nightlife
Banff is a geographical crossroads, being halfway between the UK and Australia. The urban cultures of the world intertwine themselves with flavours of the Aussie surf / sport culture and the British Pub life, thus creating a town with a feel all its own.  Whether it be heading down to HI-Banff's own Storm Cellar Pub for some live football from home or catching the hottest travelling DJ's from Sydney at a club downtown, Banff's nightlife has something for everybody.
