Saint-André-Avellin has recently celebrated the opening of the hostel Petite-Nation. This establishment is the first of its kind to offer overnight stays at low prices in the Papineau region. 

Completely renovated from a former hotel, the new hostel can accommodate sixty visitors. The building has two dormitories each with eight beds, and there are 44 beds in private rooms. Prices vary between $25 and $50.

The facility is affiliated with Hostelling International network which has 4 million members worldwide.

The owners hope that the P'tit Café in the hostel will be a meeting place and a place to create links between people in the community and tourists staying in the hostel. As well, regular live shows will be organized, along with cocktail hour, to invite guests to socialize.

It took two years of effort and investment of nearly one million dollars by the owners of the hostel for them to realize their project.
