HI-Halifax, also known as Halifax Heritage House Hostel is a designated Municipal Heritage Building that offers affordable accommodation in a friendly, safe and comfortable environment to individuals, families and groups of all ages.

Situated right in the heart of Halifax's downtown, the hostel is 200m from the bus and train stations, so getting here is easy!  And Remember that the Airport Shuttle will drop you at the door and pick you up at the Westin - also 200m away!  Halifax, founded in 1749, to establish British strength in North America has much history and culture, including a cool summer Jazz Festival, a funky Busker's Festival, the International Tattoo, and the Titanic Graveyard.  The hostel is close to the city's best music and pubs, and a pleasant 5 minute stroll from the Harbour Front/Boardwalk and some of the best seafood you'll enjoy in Canada!  The Saturday Farmer's Market, Asian food shops and various large grocery stores are all within a short walk's distance, and your HI MEMBERSHIP CARD will get you discounts at several nearby restaurants.

Our newly painted 160 year old heritage building is clean and safe and exudes a great vibe.  Our 2 private rooms as well as our dormitory rooms all include linen in the cost so PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SLEEPING BAGS AT HOME (if you must bring them, you must store them FREE of charge).  There are coin operated internet kiosks as well as FREE wireless connection for our guests along with a coin operated laundry and a TV/VCR/DVD Common Room.

We do a great Thursday Night Pub Crawl - preceeded by a convenient and affordable BBQ.  Jam nights, cheap spaghetti dinners, a great Sunday night Blues Jam just 2 doors down - there is a lot to like!!  And the hostel is a great base from which to explore the rest of the Maritimes.  With the hostel's fabulous relaxed atmosphere, great vibe and convenient location we know you'll have a FANTASTIC STAY - can't wait to meet you!!

Dorm Beds:   $18.00 per person plus tax

Private rooms $57.00 plus tax

Requirements: You will need an Hostelling International Group Membership to be offered our group rate of $18.00 per guest.

Planning Visit Information: The hostel is centered in downtown Halifax. In walking distance of public bus transportation, ferries to Dartmouth, walking distance to all museums, citadel hill, maritime museum, Peir 21. All the information needed to have a fun filled day in Halifax

Payment Information: As policy, the hostel will require a deposit, which is the total cost of the first night, due one month prior to your arrival date. The balance of the amount due would be payable upon arrival.

Cancellation Information: Groups are able to cancel at anytime up to two weeks notice of their arrival date. Example: If you book for March 15th, you would be able to cancel up to March 1. The deposit is forfeit if the group cancels within the two week period. If there is acceptable reasons for cancellation, a credit will be offerred to the group, which would be valid for one year.
