Head North to Edmonton!
Edmonton, Alberta's capital city, was voted Canada's cultural capital in 2007 and is known for its friendly citizens and festival-packed summers. Edmonton's popularity is no longer a secret - it's now the top tourist destination in the province.

HI-Edmonton is in the heart of one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the city, Old Strathcona, where you can check out all sorts of fun and exciting things - from a huge farmer's market to every kind of pub, restaurant and shop imaginable.

"Funky and unique, the Old Strathcona Historical Area is definitely Edmonton's most exuberant shopping area.  The heart of the action is along 82nd Avenue, otherwise known as Whyte Avenue, where punk rockers and street artists rub shoulders with families and business people against a backdrop of antique stores, gift shops and bookstores." Dream Shopping Streets, Canadian Travel Magazine, Fall 2002
