HI-C-Pacific Mountain Region is a non-profit organization.  Our mission is to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of peoples, places and cultures through hostelling.  We're very proud to share this mission with HI-Associations all over the world.

Basically, we believe that we are all enriched by travelling and meeting others who are doing the same. We love to be able to offer those travelling to our hostels the very best we can. We also want to be sure that our facilities and the activities we offer are affordable.

Our fundraising activities, like these running events, are important contributors to our financial sustainability. Funds generated at these events help us to renovate and refresh each of our very unique hostels, and upgrade some to include renewable energy projects such as solar panel installations and micro-hydro plants. In addition, these funds help us to build engaging educational programming that inspires our guests to learn more about the hostel and its surroundings.

Every year HI-C-Pacific Mountain Region hosts four running races as fundraising events for this region.

These races include:

• Spring Trio 5-10-15 km
• Kananaskis 100 Mile Relay
• Banff Ekiden
• Last Chance Half Marathon
