It's that time of year again. You know what that means, Climb On!! Yes it's the time for early mornings, putting in long days to beat the dark and being the first one to break in the ice, its Ice Climbing season!! Pack your long underwear, an extra pair of socks and a warm bevy to heat you up after a long day of straddling ice and don't forget your tools and crampons.

If you're looking for the perfect destination to some of the best Ice climbing in Alberta, you've found it. Spend a long hard day on ice and come back to a peaceful, warm and cozy hostel. Stoke up the fire or dip into the hot tub and get the sensation back into your toes and fingers. Sunday to Thursday is the quietest time of the week so you'll get an even better night's sleep and won't have to compete for the ice.

We're even close to some awesome backcountry skiing and cross-country skiing.

Families
It's the perfect time of year for winter hiking and groups and families to come out. Typically there isn't a lot of snow right at the hostel until you reach higher elevations, so we still receive a lot of winter hikers. It's a quieter time of the season, perfect for family getaways. Bring your children, cuddle up to the fire and play board games. HI-Nordegg is a hot spot for families, with a peaceful comfortable atmosphere for everyone.

Groups
Groups don't have to compete as much for availability, they can even rent out the entire hostel for a school retreat, family get-together, or to come out and enjoy the great outdoors.
