Be Inspired in Jasper National Park
HI-Beauty Creek Wilderness Hostel is unique among the Rocky Mountain hostels. It is located in one of the very few places where there is a large open tract of land to spot wildlife from the hostel. This is one of the very few places where you may see caribou from the hostel or highway. Wolf packs have been sighted crossing the road and moving along Beauty Creek and Sunwapta River Flats.Take a couple of hours and follow the Creek as it flows through eight sets of waterfalls along a limestone gorge to the foot of the magnificent Stanley Falls. Wilcox Pass and the Columbia Icefield Centre are quick 14km drive away.
No Phone, No Electricity, No Showers and Outhouse toilets. We do offer water for cooking, a refrigerator, propane stoves and lights. This is cabin-in-the-woods living and the lack of modern distractions inevitably facilitates the making of new friends and shared experiences and adventures. Come see why this experience is treasured by so many of our visitors as the highlight of their Canadian Rockies tour.
World's Second Largest Dark Sky Preserve.
This is Dark Sky country, recently Jasper National Park was named the World's Largest Accessible Dark Sky Preserve in the world. HI-Beauty Creek is the closest HI hostel to the darkest part of the National Park. You'll be able to savour true silence, night skies bursting with stars and the knowledge that some of the world's most magnificent landscapes are, really, right outside our door.
Cycling the Icefield Parkway?
The Icefields Parkway, extending from Jasper National Park to Lake Louise, is one of the world's most stunning rides. As you cycle along the spine of the Rockies, past soaring mountains and turquoise lakes, you may think you'll need to rough it in the Canadian Rockies. But the truth is, it's far more pleasant to ride without all the gear. Click here for more information >>
