South of Jasper, off the Icefield Parkway.

Ever wonder what's really in the trees of the wild mountains of Alberta? HI-Athabasca Falls Wilderness Hostel is 5 wood cabins ensconced by the Rocky Mountains along the world famous Icefield Parkway. The hostel is located a short distance upstream from Athabasca Falls. The falls are the largest waterfall by volume in Jasper National Park.  In the winter, wake up in the cozy hostel and get ready for a day of cross-country skiing on a groomed trail that run up the Geraldine Lakes road, or if you prefer the thrills of the downhill, Marmot Basin is a short drive away. Summertime brings long days of outdoor adventure and new activities with family and friends.

"Off-the-Grid" Wilderness.

No Running Water, No Showers and Outhouse toilets. We do have purified water for cooking, a refrigerator, stoves, and solar-powered lights. No Internet, no bar, just the forest cabin that you always dreamed of.

Private and Shared Rooms.

The accommodations are comfortable, safe and secure but basic: simple bunk beds and furnishing. In the summer, there is an outdoor "cowboy" shower for those not willing to brave a morning dip in the river. A wide range of Alberta adventures, such as hiking alpine trails, visiting local lakes, sighting several types of local wildlife, skiing at nearby resorts are just a few of the experiences located near the hostel. Cycling up and down the Icefield Parkway is a very popular summer sport. Backpackers often use the hostel as a base camp for their backcountry adventures.
