Friendly and central, the Hostelling International Victoria hostel is housed in a heritage building in the city's historic downtown centre. Its location gives backpackers the best access to exploring Canada's westernmost capital. The hostel is a 5 minute walk to the picturesque Victoria waterfront, the BC legislature buildings, and the Royal British Columbia Museum.
For advice and service on what to see and do in Victoria and the rest of Vancouver Island, speak to the staff. They didn't build their reputation for being some of the friendliest people you'll meet for nothing! Staff is on duty 24 hours for your service and security.
Facilities:
Linen is provided, at no extra charge. Towels are also available upon request, but for large groups (over 20 people) please give advance notice as to how many are required. If it is possible to bring your own towels that would be greatly appreciated - it helps keeps our costs down which is reflected in our rates to you.There are lockers with each bed for security. We can provide locks but, if possible, it is helpful for large groups to bring their own. Kitchen facilities are available at the hostel. We have microwave ovens (sorry, no conventional ovens). Pots and pans, cutlery and crockery are also provided. We have a TV room, small library, pool table, and laundry room. Location:
We are situated right in the heart of downtown within easy walking distance of the local attractions. The hostel is at the end of Yates Street; the cross Street is Wharf Street. How to get to HI-Victoria
Parking:
We do not have a parking lot at the hostel, but it is free on the streets by the parking meters after 6pm, till 9am, and free all day on Sundays. There are 2 parking lots less than 3 blocks away that charge $6 for all day parking.
