Staying in Whistler is about to get a whole lot more affordable. Opening July 1, 2010, the new HI-Whistler is a purpose-built, modern hostel with all the amenities you'd expect and then some. The 180-bed hostel will be Whistler's biggest, offering budget accommodation in shared and private rooms in a brand new neighbourhood just minutes from the slopes. Reservations are now open.

Before the hostel opens its doors next summer, it will fill an important role as part of Whistler's athletes' village for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. So who knows, this could be the closest you get to sharing a room with an Olympic gold medalist.
