The HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach Earth Easy Project
A little change can make a huge difference; a little effort can make the world better.
HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach is located in beautiful Jericho Park, and the Earth Easy Project enables travellers to offset their environmental impact in two ways.
I. By making a donation
All the money raised will be donated to the Jericho Stewardship Group* to purchase natural plants and shrubs for replanting in the park, and/or natural habitats for park wildlife (such as bird and bat boxes).
II. By working to restore the natural habitat of the park
Get your hands dirty and help us make a physical difference to the natural habitat of Jericho Park. A group of volunteers meets the second Sunday of every month to remove invasive plants and to contribute new growth to the park by planting natural plants and shrubs donated, in part, by hostel guests.
*The Earth Easy Project is a partnership between Hostelling International and the Jericho Stewardship Group to ensure the sustainability of the parks. The Jericho Stewardship Group is a collective of individuals and non-profit organizations working together with the Vancouver Parks Board to make a difference at Jericho Park.
