Work for Stay at HI-Banff

Most of the staff who work at the hostel are backpackers first; we know the challenges of trying to find our way across the globe on a limited budget, trying to squeeze every mile - and every night - out of the money we have.

In recognition of this, the HI-Banff Alpine Centre has a "work-for-stay" program - if you are eligible to work in Canada and know when you will be coming through, you can apply in advance to participate in this program. The work is generally working in our restaurant kitchen or housekeeping department (though sometimes, depending on your expertise, other opportunities may arise as well) and is four hours' hard work per day in exchange for your accommodation, a bed in a dorm - but if your goal is to spend an extended amount of time in Banff and reduce your costs, this opportunity may be for you.
