Lighthouse Park Tour
Take a trip to West Vancouver and discover the quaint community of Horseshoe Bay. The tour is guided by our veteran volunteer, David, who has 13 years of experience bringing guests out to see some of the last remaining old growth trees in the lower mainland. Bring bus fare and a lunch and be prepared to have a great time!
Granville Street Pub Crawl
A short wander around the entertainment district of Vancouver will bring you to a trio of pubs, all within easy stumbling distance. Nothing but good times. The night culminates at the infamous Roxy Night Club where Joe's Garage will be kicking the 1980's rock jams. No cover charges, the rest is up to you.
Tuesdays
Erik's Lynn Canyon and City Tour
Mentioned in the Lonely Planet as one of Vancouver's best, this walking tour began in 1995. More than 12,000 guests from all over the world have experienced Erik's activity filled and memorable tours!
Highlights of the tour included:
- Sightseeing in the downtown core including Chinatown
- The beautiful Lynn Canyon with it's waterfalls and suspension bridge
- serenely wooded trails
- Lunch at the edge of a crystal clear river
- water, lots and lots of water (rivers, fountains, waterfalls and the ocean!)
This full day tour is only $12, which includes all public bus transportation, the SeaBus and our professional guide. A better bargain will be hard to find anywhere!
Yuk Yuk's Comdey Night
If you like to laugh this might be for you. Join the group for free entry to Yuk Yuk's Crash and Burn Night, showing off either new and untested comedians or funny people with new material seeking both your laughter and pity. There is a professional host and a headliner, so you will always leave happy and for the price of free, it's a pretty fair deal!
Wednesdays
Granville Island Market and Brewery Tour
Experience the culture, food and history of Granville Island. An eclectic array of artists, buskers, green grocers, casual eateries, craft vendors, ethnic food sellers, importers, sweet stands, florists, fishmongers, butchers, bakers & candlestick makers. Then take a tour of The Granville Island Brewery and sample some of BC's best beer.
The tour lasts about one-and-a-half hours. The cost of the tour is $3.50 for the ferry ride ($1.75 each way). The brewery tour is an additional 45 minutes, is completely optional, and is $9.75 (student discounts available).
Pub Night
Our friends at Doolin's, Johnnie Fox's and Ceili's will host an evening of drinking. You can't lose. No cover, but you buy your own drinks.
Thursdays
Stanley Park & Aquarium Walking Tour
Stanley Park is popularly called the Jewel of Vancouver. We take you out to see the natural wonders of the park. There is a heron colony and families of raccoons! The tour ends at the aquarium where we will get you a discounted rate on admission. Did we mention that the aquarium has nature's most adorable animal, the sea otter?
Ice Skating
Enjoy a great Canadian pasttime and go skating outdoors at Robson Square. The hostel group heads down every week on Thursdays, but if you miss the meeting time, tyou can go anytime between 12pm and 9pm on your own or with friends. Skating is free! But if you need skates, they will cost $3 to rent.
5-Pin Bowling & Pool Night
Join your fellow bowling enthusiasts for a night of 5-pin bowling and pool. The Commodore Lanes & Billiards will provide a deal of $8 for two hours of bowling and/or pool. You'll be able to enjoy the old school 1920's art deco interior of the joint while enjoying the fully licensed snack bar. After the games are finished, the group heads to Ceili's to discuss their triumph and tragedies. I think we both know it's been too long since you last got your bowl on!

Erik's Capilano Forest and City Tour
Our guide Erik began this walking tour in 2000, five years after commencing his classic ?Lynn Canyon Forest Tour? and it has become just as popular. The two tours are very different from one another with no overlap or repeats from one tour to the next.
Highlights of the tour include:
- Lush ancient forest trails with gigantic old growth trees
- Fish hatchery where in season you can see the salmon jump up the fish ladders
- The Capilano Canyon suspension bridge, the world's largest suspension bridge
- A walk along the beautiful Vancouver waterfront into Gastown, with the iconic Steam Clock!
The price of this tour is $27.50 if you choose to cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the 6 Treetop Bridges. The tour itself is only $12, which includes the cost of all public bus transportation.
Club Night
What if we could get you free cover to The Bourbon and the Lotus Sound Lounge? And what if I told you it was on a Friday night? And all you would have to do is sign up and then meet in the lobby of HI-Vancouver Central and then walk down to the spots with our volunteer? Well, that's what we're telling you. It's a really good deal!
Jericho Movie Night
Every Sunday, we'll grab a new release from the video store and play it in the HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach TV room. With surround sound and a large screen TV, it's the next best thing to going to a theater, cheaper too! Some weeks you'll cry, some weeks you'll laugh and some weeks you'll do whatever it is that action movies are supposed to make you do. We'll supply some chips and popcorn for you, too.
