By Air:
Various airlines fly to & from Tofino.
By Car:
Take BC Ferries to Nanaimo, from either the Horseshoe Bay or the Tsawwassen terminal. Once on the Island, proceed north along the Island Hwy, then take Hwy #4 to Port Alberni, Ucluelet, and on to Tofino.
By Bike:
Follow the "By Car" instructions until you arrive in Port Alberni. Once in Port, you will have a choice: either proceed along Hwy #4 a grueling cycle over the mountains, OR you can take the ship MV Lady Rose from Port Alberni to Ucluelet each Monday, Wednesday, or Friday mornings during June to September, enjoying the spectacular sights of the Broken Islands Group along the way.
From Victoria or Nanaimo:
- Tofino Bus offers daily service between Victoria, Nanaimo, and Tofino. Call 1-866-986-3466 for schedules & fares, or visit their web site at: www.tofinobus.com.
- Greyline Bus Tours on Vancouver Island also provides daily service to & from Tofino. Call 1-800-318-0818 for schedules and fares, or visit their web site at: www.greyhound.ca/en/ .
From both of the HI-Vancouver Hostels:
Bus transportation is available from downtown Vancouver to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay www.bcferries.com (by both Greyhound & city buses? please ask the hostel staff).
Big Foot Tours makes trips to HI-Tofino during the spring, summer & fall. The other option would be to check the ride boards and maybe share the gas with someone.
From Seattle:
Follow Hwy #5 north, or take the ferry from Seattle or Port Angeles on to Victoria.
Once you get to Tofino: you'll find us at 81 West Street, right at the foot of Main Street, just 2 blocks from restaurants, shopping & services.
