Away from it All
Away from the busy centres of the Banff and Jasper townsites, halfway up the Icefields Parkway, HI-Rampart Creek hostel awaits your visit.  The peaceful serenity of the vast unspoiled wilderness of this National Park setting is broken only by the sounds of the nearby creek splashing over the rocks, the breeze rustling the pine-scented forests or perhaps the light footsteps of deer walking past the hostel buildings.

Great Hiking
Take any of the easy hikes only a few hundred yards from our hostel that lead to any number of unique experiences - a beaver dam and lodge; a stroll in the bottom of a 30-metre tall canyon; a brief hike that weaves its way up to a clifftop view of the majestic glacier-capped mountains that surround this valley. If you're up for half-day or full-day hikes, explore one of the nearby trails that will lead you up out of the montane valley and into the sub-alpine or even the alpine summits.

Base Camp for Climbers
If your tastes trend to the extremely vertical, there are bolted sport-climbing routes only a five-minute walk from the hostel. For the experienced adventurer, this is a great basecamp for numerous world-class alpine routes.

Serene Beauty
If all you are looking for is an opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in nature's beauty, you need go no further than the front porch of the hostel, sit around our fire circle or walk through the woods to our sauna to experience it.

Wilderness Relaxation
The hostel is a Wilderness hostel - there is no television, wifi or phones - our electricity is generated by solar power and there's no running water.  This is cabin-in-the-woods living and the lack of modern distractions inevitably facilitates the making of new friends and shared experiences and adventures.  Come see why this experience is treasured by so many of our visitors as the highlight of their Canadian Rockies tour.
