Driving Directions
From Calgary/Banff (Calgary = 187km; Banff = 58km)
Travel west on the Trans Canada Highway (#1) until you reach Lake Louise. Remember to get a National Park Pass at the Banff Gate!  Take the exit ramp off of the highway and turn left into the village of Lake Louise. At the first stop sign, turn right. The HI-Lake Louise Alpine Center is the second establishment after the bridge, on your left.

For the scenic route, take the Bow Valley Parkway from just west of the Town of Banff all the way to Lake Louise. The BVP ends at a T-intersection. Turn left at the 'T'and follow the road into the village. At the first stop sign, turn right. The HI-Lake Louise Alpine Center is the second establishment after the bridge, on your left.

From Jasper (233km)
Travel south on the Icefields Parkway (#93 N). Make sure you take lots of pictures and have a National Park Pass. Turn east on Highway 1 towards Lake Louise. Keep a sharp eye out for the exit to Lake Louise, it comes up fast (less than 1km) Turn right at the top of the exit ramp into the village. At the first stop sign, turn right. The HI-Lake Louise Alpine Center is the second establishment after the bridge, on your left.

From Golden (84km)
Travel west on the Trans Canada Highway (#1) to Lake Louise. Turn right at the top of the exit ramp into the village of Lake Louise. At the first stop sign, turn right. The HI-Lake Louise Alpine Center is the second establishment after the bridge, on your left.

 

Car Rental

National Car Rentals
National has a rental office right in Lake Louise! The number of vehicles is limited so be sure to make a reservation. Call 403-522-3870 for reservations and availability. NOTE: Reservations for Lake Louise pick up are unavailalbe at the National Car Rentals website.  

 

Bus and Shuttle Information
Note: PRICES FOR SERVICES VARY. Please click on service connections to view details and price lists. Reservations are recomended for all services.
Lake Louise is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone; this is particularly important to note if you are travelling from British Columbia, as they are on Pacific Time.

Greyhound
Greyhound offers bus services from many different locations across North America to Lake Louise. HI Members receive 25% off regular fares (blackout dates may apply) .

Brewster
Brewster Transportation and Tours offers daily service from Calgary International Airport, Downtown Calgary, and Banff. In the summer months, Brewster also travels between Lake Luise and Jasper.  HI Members recieve 10% off and we can book tickets for you right at the hostel!

Sundog
Sundog offers shuttle service between Calgary, Calgary International Airport, and Jasper all year long. Reservations are required. Private charter services are available.
