Thank you for your interest in volunteering for HI. Here is some information on the volunteer positions we have available.

Group Leader for Wednesday Granville Island Tour
The volunteer meets our guests at the lobby of Vancouver Downtown at 11:45am on Wednesdays. From there, the group takes the water taxi across false creek and in Granville Island's market. The tour goes around the outside of the market, pointing out the landmarks and finishes at the Granville Island brewery where the guests are left in the capable hands of the beer makers. The tour ends around 1:30pm. A volunteer is needed for one or two tours per month to relieve the regular tour guide when they are unavailable.

Group Leader for Friday Club Night
The volunteer meets our guests in the lobby of Vancouver Central at 8:30pm on Fridays and takes them across town to The Bourbon. Following that, the group heads to The Lotus Sound Lounge for the rest of the evening. This is a fun and easy activity and requires an outgoing and enthusiastic personality. A good knowledge of drinking games is an asset; also you must enjoy hanging out with travellers of different ages and backgrounds. There are a few complimentary drinks for the volunteer, and drink specials throughout the night.

The volunteer must be friendly, fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.  Must have some knowledge of Vancouver & BC.  Experience with travellers is helpful, first aid an asset.
