Beach & BBQ!
Imagine it... you're sitting in the beautiful HOT Okanagan sunshine, on the breezy shore of one of the lakes that cradle the city. You're snacking on cherries and peaches you picked right off the tree on your way to the beach; and sipping a wee bit of wine that you got on your incredible winery tour the previous day.
In between bites & sips, you hop, leap and frolic in the cool, clean water and have easy games of frisbee with other scantily clad beach goers. Then maybe take a little nap or pretend to read a page or two of the latest best seller as you peer over the top of your glasses at the view and catch up on some people-watching. Then, hours later, when you've had enough of the glorious sunshine (is that possible?), and as the day starts to wind down, you, and your newly bronzed body, take the short walk back to the hostel, and plop down in the shade on the back yard patio and take a few minutes to reflect on how relaxed (and tanned) you are.
Soon the delicious aroma of BBQ'd yummies starts to waft through the air as the Hostel staff and volunteers get things going for the BBQ feast. As you fill your tummy and share stories and laughs with other visitors you'll start to understand why 'Penticton' (Pen-tak-tin) really means "A Place To Stay Forever."
